Officer hurt in crash involving suspected drunk driver

A suspected drugged and drunk driver has been arrested following a crash that led to an officer suffering injuries. The woman, from Milford, is suspected of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol in an early-morning accident on Thursday, May 3. The suspect, 22, has been charged with eight crimes in relation to the accident, according to a news report out of Boston.

The woman was held on a violation of probation. She already has a very long driving record at the young age of 22. There were no details made available about the probation violation that she was held on after the accident.

The police report says that the woman was driving a Lexus sedan at the time of the crash, which was around 2 a.m., Thursday morning. The accident occurred at West and Congress Streets. Both vehicles suffered major damage.

Police noted that the officer injured in the crash was transported to a local hospital with a concussion and a knee contusion. The officer is expected to make a full recovery. According to witnesses, a young child and a man were also in the woman’s car at the time of the crash.

The driver’s license of the woman was immediately suspended following the crash on Thursday morning. Her driving record includes multiple accidents that have led to bodily injury liability and property damage. Two of those accidents occurred in January of this year. She has five more of these types of accidents on her driving record.
