Teen and adult male facing armed robbery charges in Boston

On Behalf of | Dec 19, 2018 | Juvenile Crimes |

A 17-year-old and an adult man from Boston have been accused of getting involved in an armed robbery, and both have been arrested. The older man is just 21 years of age.

Both young men are facing charges of:

  • Two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon
  • Carrying a firearm despite not having a license for that firearm
  • Two counts of armed robbery while masked
  • Having a loaded firearm without a license

Reports also indicate that the police officers who made the arrest picked up a BB gun pistol, a Glock handgun and a number of THC vape cartridges. The Glock was apparently loaded when police found it.

The issue that led to the arrest happened on December 9, 2018, right around 7:49 p.m. After a call, police arrived to find a 16-year-old male covered in blood and bleeding from the forehead. He said that he had been held at gunpoint, robbed and assaulted.

He also claimed that a friend told him he wanted to buy marijuana but really set him up for the robbery. He had been with another friend when he got a message on social media asking about the purchase. He was able to tell officers who had contacted him online and claimed the whole incident was a gang initiation.

The next day, police made the arrest.

Charges like this are very serious for a young person who has their whole future in front of them. If your teenager gets involved with any sort of criminal activity, you need to realize that the police treat juvenile crimes very harshly these days. In the current legal climate, it’s wise to get experienced legal assistance right away.
