Being placed under arrest is something that most people hope to avoid in life. Still, it could happen to anyone for many reasons, and if it does happen, it is important that the accused person knows why the arrest occurred and what type of charges he or she may be facing. This information could prove crucial to defending against drug charges or other allegations that an individual may be charged with.

One man in Massachusetts will likely be obtaining information about his predicament after recently being taken into custody. According to reports, the man owns a computer-related business, and for an undisclosed reason, authorities suspected that the man was conducting drug sales from the business. Detectives began an investigation, which lasted two weeks, and they later obtained a warrant to search the business.

Allegedly, officers discovered various drugs, including marijuana, methamphetamine, hashish and prescription medications. It was also noted that about $42,000 worth of drugs and cash were located on the premises. As a result, the man is now facing multiple charges of possession with intent to distribute substances in various classes, including Classes B, C, D and E. It appears that bail was set, though it was not clear whether the man was released from custody after his arraignment.

Drug charges can come with differing degrees of possible consequences if a person is convicted of the allegations. Nonetheless, any time Massachusetts residents are facing criminal charges of this nature, it is important that they understand the allegations, evidence and possible defense options. This type of predicament can be confusing and complicated, so it is often a smart step for parties facing criminal charges to seek help from legal professionals.
