When emotions get the better of people, it is easy to take actions that could land them in trouble. They may act irrationally as their emotions fuel their behavior, and if alcohol or other substances are involved, those individuals may not fully understand what they are doing. Unfortunately, in these types of scenarios, individuals are still responsible for their actions and may have to defend against any criminal charges they face.
One man in Massachusetts is undoubtedly thinking about how he can get through his predicament after recently being taken into custody. According to reports, the man was at a bar when he allegedly began acting in a disruptive manner. When security at the establishment attempted to get the man to leave, he purportedly brandished a knife and wounded two employees. The injured workers did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.
Authorities came to the scene and found bar security attempting to restrain the suspect. Officers took the man into custody. He is currently facing the following charges:
- Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon
- Assault with a dangerous weapon
- Resisting arrest
- Making threats
- Simple assault and battery
It is unlikely that this Massachusetts man planned for his night to end up in this type of situation. Unfortunately, he and many others must find ways to handle the criminal charges brought against them after an unlucky situation. On the bright side, it is possible to gain reliable information and build a meaningful defense that could help mitigate the negative effects of such situations.
