While traffic violations may seem minor to some individuals, a person behind the wheel of a vehicle could face serious criminal charges in some cases. If authorities suspect that a driver has placed other people’s lives at risk, did not heed the commands of police or committed other serious violations, the driver could be in for a difficult ordeal. However, that does not mean that the person cannot defend against the allegations he or she faces.

One individual in Massachusetts may be feeling the stress that comes along with criminal charges after recently being arrested. According to reports, police received reports of an alleged erratic driver on the interstate. An officer located the vehicle around 1 a.m. and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver is said to have continued moving. As a result, a police chase ensued.

The pursuit come to a temporary stop when the vehicle entered a construction zone, but it later resumed. Additional officers deployed tire spikes along the vehicle’s route, and eventually, the vehicle’s tires were deflated, causing the vehicle to stop. As a result, the driver is facing the following charges:

  • Negligent operation
  • Failure to stop for police
  • Failure to stop or yield to traffic signals
  • Negligent operation in a work zone
  • Marked lanes violation

Unfortunately, these charges could come with serious consequences if this Massachusetts driver is convicted. However, it is possible to defend against the allegations in hopes of working toward a favorable outcome. The exact measures this accused individual could take depend on the details of the case, so it may be useful to him to gain reliable information that pertains to his specific circumstances.
