Defending against criminal charges can be a challenging process. As a result, it is important for any accused person to know where to start when it comes to creating a criminal defense. Often, one of the best places to begin is gathering information about the charges and one’s rights and legal options

One man in Massachusetts will likely be looking to gain reliable information after recently being taken into custody. According to reports, an officer needed to serve a trespass notice on the man, and when the officer saw him walking in a parking lot, the officer stopped his vehicle and approached the man. The officer indicated that the man allegedly became uncooperative and aggressive toward the officer and purportedly struck the officer in the face at one point.

The man was eventually subdued and taken into custody. Upon search of the man’s personal possessions for inventory at booking, authorities reportedly found materials in the man’s backpack consistent with those used in making a bomb. The following additional details were provided:

  • The man is facing charges for the alleged assault on the officer.
  • The man is also facing allegations relating to possession of an explosive device.
  • At the time of the report, the man was still in custody on a $2,000 bail.

The charges brought against this Massachusetts man could come with long-lasting consequences if he is convicted. Fortunately, he can work toward a favorable outcome by creating and presenting a criminal defense if he wishes to do so. Taking the time to gain information on his legal options and understand the situation to the best of his ability may work in his favor.
