In Massachusetts and elsewhere, some people choose to resolve conflict through violence. Sometimes, these altercations involve several people, and the incident can leave victims with serious injuries. Those who perpetrate violent acts against others face harsh consequences if arrested and convicted. This appears to be what happened to one teenager in Dorchester.

Incident details and arrest

Around 9:15 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, March 22, police from District C-11 responded to the area of Ashmont Street and Adams Street. The call was regarding a fight among a group of teenage girls. The report states that officers had responded to the scene twice, and the second time, they identified victims who had been beaten severely but also doused with mace and bleach.

Officers were able to identify the individual suspected of perpetrating the attacks. She was a 17-year-old female, and she was charged with aggravated assault after being taken into custody. Several other youths were with the alleged attacker and apparently tried to prevent police from taking the young woman into custody. No other charges were mentioned as having been filed against any of the girls in the group, and the case is still under investigation.

Right to defense

The 17-year-old accused of this attack faces harsh consequences if she is convicted on the charges. Since she is young and has her whole life ahead of her, she will want to work closely with an experienced criminal defense attorney in Massachusetts. A lawyer will analyze all aspects of the alleged attack and arrest and work to help the client obtain the most favorable outcome possible, considering the evidence against her.
